Welcome to the first online dating service to take a scientific approach. Founded by renouned relationship expert Dr. Neil Clark Warren, eHarmony is both a matchmaking service for singles, and a 'marriage wellness' program for those who have tied the knot.
For singles, eHarmony uses the Compatibility Matching System™ to determine who your matches are. This system requires an extremely comprehensive and long test to be taken by all members. It took me several sessions to complete, and the software designers were prepared for this. You can quit and come back to the test and all of the information you have already submitted will be saved.
Once the test is complete, it takes some time for eHarmony to find you your matches. This, however, isn't the only benefit of the test. It also gives you a Personality Profile, and a Compatibility Profile. The former describes who you are based on your answers to the test. I found it was disturbingly accurate! The Compatibility Profile will tell you what type of person you should be looking for in a relationship.
Once you do find out who your matches are, all of the typical features are in place. You can search, send messages, flirt, and so on. eHarmony is a big time investment, but worthwhile especially if you have never done a test like this before.

How it Works:
You can create your profile for free. After this you will be given a list of your 'Matches'. If you wish to contact any of these matches you must pay for a monthly subscription. After that you are given full access to search and contact any members on the site.
