When creating Mega Friends, the founders wanted "not only offer a service where folks could meet for dating and romance but also the opportunity to meet others for non-romantic notions like finding a travel buddy, a sports buddy, someone just to chat with, a pen pal, a key pal or a good neighbor." Mega Friends is a community as much (if not moreso) than it is a dating service. The low membership numbers make it even less attractive for those looking for romance and casual dating. On the bright side, it is a pretty good community. The software looks a little basic but it has a lot of cool features. One that I haven't seen elsewhere is the "Popular" list, which displays - in order - which members have the most friends on the site. Also, standard features like voting polls and forums are pretty well used by the membership. And the ability to post unlimited photos is almost unheard of! Support at Mega Friends is about average speed. They have a ticket system they use for customers needing an answer. Mega Friends has enough free features for anyone to get a really good feel for the service without spending a cent. If it sounds like something you would be into it is definitely worth checking out.
